The simple way to get circular motion in LW is to parent your object to a
null object, offset it (your object) by however long you want the radius of
your orbit and keyframe it there.  Then spin the null object.  The null acts
like a "handle" on your object and it's as if you have your object on a stick
and can whirl it around any way you like.

Of course you can also move the null, and your object will move with it.
 Your object retains all it's own freedom of movement, so you can get some
very smooth complex paths.  Takes a little practice, but, hey, what doesn't?

Great way to get nice smooth camera motion too.
